Point to Point: A paramotor expedition from John O'Groats to Lands End.

Raising money to support Mind and the UK’s Air Ambulance's

Point to Point is an ambitious paramotoring expedition which aims to raise money for the UK’s Air Ambulance’s and MIND, a leading mental health charity.

The expedition leader, Andy, came up with the idea a couple of years ago while looking for a challenge to improve his mental health while also doing something for charity. He has since gone on to put down the foundations and set up the team.

The newly formed team now faces the challenge of learning to fly a paramotor and preparing themselves for what’s ahead. They are likely to face many challenges: learning to fly a paramotor, adverse weather, mountainous terrain, and some of the UK’s busiest airspace.

The current plan is to take off late August 2021 from John O’Groats, visiting a number of the Air Ambulance bases along the way, and arrive at Lands End on the 10th of September.

COVID has presented many challenges for the world, let alone our country, despite that the UK Air Ambulances and MIND have worked tirelessly to help keep us safe and well.

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.

Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Air Ambulances UK is the national organisation representing, supporting and advocating the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities and wider air ambulance sector.

They collectively complete over 25,000 lifesaving missions a year, an average of more than 70 a day.

We hope you’ll join us in thanking them for their hard work by supporting them with donations to our expedition.

Working across various industries from project management, construction, and architecture, as well as an ex-helicopter pilot, our team brings together a wealth of different backgrounds and experiences.

With such a wide range of backgrounds and unique experiences, we can feel confident that the team is up to the challenge. You can find out all about them on the team page.

Fitting with the times, the team has successfully had it’s first meeting on Zoom!

The next step will be to develop their Paramotoring skills and expand their funding. These are exciting times for the team, who are eager to get on with the challenge.

We are thrilled to be supported by two exceptional companies so far:

Paramotor Training will give the team the skills they need to safely navigate their paramotors through such a long and arduous challenge!

Trust Ford Bristol is kindly providing vital transport for the support team, helping keep the flyers airborne!
